So how many times can you watch the same movie in one day?

Four, yes four viewings of Burlesque in one day! I'm so happy, doing a little burlesque kinda happy dance here that this ulba cool movie is out on DVD. I watched it once with Neil (not terribly much fun he frowns on dancing during a movie! LOL), once in bed with the head phones, then again with the directors commentary and to finish my viewing pleasure at 2am a quick run through of the special features. Then up with a morning coffee to watch again. But alas it had to go back to the video shop at 1pm and now its a two week wait for my own copy.
But wait I've got the music downloaded so can listen to it all day long if need be to get me through!
If you love song and dance movies with great eye candy you need to get to Video Ezy right now!!!

Tattoos, Twilight and more....

I've been doing a lot of research on the internet lately for tattoo ideas, one of the ladies at Playcentre has had some awesome ones done on her wrists, a tiger butterfly for her son and a purple butterfly for her daughter. The more I thought about it the more I liked that idea. My justifications are:

1. I can see the tattoos
2. I'm 43 and my mother can't tell me off now
3 Who actually cares about tattoos on women now anyway
4. I want to (probably the most inportant one!)

So I'm kinda leaning towards these ones or something similuar.....
I think the bottom one looks quite good and with the boys names in the right typestyle they would look quite good.
This would make a good companion tattoo for on my back, maybe as a cover up for my first tattoo.
Anyway you can tattoos of anything even Twilight....
Good quality tattoo, but oh my god how old is this woman and why?????

kinda scarey Rob Patz...

Harry Potter and co....
breastfeeding....
something to keep the kiddies busy when waiting in line at the supermarket....
Cave paintings...or join the freckles dots...
OOWWWWW but it could be something for the baby to look at LOL!
I'm also looking for something to go across my shoulders and down my arms...kinda like this:
I would like something swirly and finer than this with maybe the odd flower or butterfly included.....the search goes on!

Supernatural obsessions...(repost from Wordpress)

What is it with my obsession with the supernatural world? Since I was young I have loved stories about vampires, werewolves, fairies and other magical creatures. Are they really out there? Well if they are like Edward from Twilight or Eric from True Blood I say bring it on, but knowing my luck they would look like Mr Bean or Bill Clinton LOL. I do like the thought of angels being real though, I imagine they are like the angels in City of Angels (Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan movie) watching over your shoulder and helping you through the tough times.
So now my obsession seems to be peaking, I can't get enough of the supernatural world, I have read the Twilight series 3 times and watched the movies heaps. I got Eclipse for Christmas after going to watch it at the movies first.
The movie was great by the way but as always the books are much much better.

That leads me to True Blood a tv series that is definitely for grown ups with heaps of blood and sex. The latest Rolling Stones cover captures it perfectly!  I devoured the series of books written by Charlaine Harris in the last school holidays trying to get up to speed with the series which has just started season three but the programs are completely different to the books. Whats up with that? But now that I have got used to that its good because its like a whole new story line involving the same characters.

I have tracked down several authors lately who write vampire stories, including PC Cast, Mary Janice Davidson..(Extremely funny), Anne Rice (who started it all), Tate Hallaway, and Laurell K Hamilton. I have had to start a journal listing these authors and the series they have written to keep up with it all, thank god for the internet as I'm able to see which libraries have which titles and book them. I have read over 100 books since the beginning of  the year. Luckily I'm a fast reader.
I have still made time for scrapbooking though....

about vampires...LOL!

Steampunk....have you heard of it?

What is Steampunk? According to Wikipedia, Steampunk is actually the term used to refer to fantasy and science fiction written in the Victorian age. A time when many machines were still steam powered. Now, if you were to describe a gadget as being “steampunk”, you’d be referring to a design integration of futuristic form with design elements and craftsmanship consistent with the Victorian era. To get an idea of what Steampunk looks like think Wild Wild West  and HG Wells Time Machine movies. Items are generally made with materials that include wood, copper, brass and iron
.I've always liked stuff that was a bit different and have now found a name for it.Check out some of my favourite steampunked stuff.....

Steampunk inspired jewellry.........

Steampunk inspired fashion.........
and it even takes over Ipods, computers, headphones ......

I love these Steampunked cartoons....

Star Wars rocks steampunked!

Houses can be steampunked too to see more about this check out thesteampunkhome.blogspot.com

If I had my own house and lots of money I too could be steampunked! LOL. but in the meantime is there such a thing as Farmerspunked....

Burlesque ROCKS!!!!

I had a rare night out with the girls on Wednesday, that alone was great, but the movie we chose to see was what really made my night. I spent 2 hours being entertained by lots of great singing, dancing and romance in the movie Burlesque. It stars Christina Aguilera and Cher both great singers. The choregraphy was awesome but best of all Cam Gigandet was the love interest and he is way sexier than his role as James in Twilight. My favourite scene involves him wearing polar bear pjs and it would be worth paying $13.00 just to watch that again! LOL.

This was the grand finale song and very good.
So I have a new favourite on my movie and music list, I've already downloaded the soundtrack from ITunes and thats what is going to be playing when I do housework now!
I would recommend that every self respecting woman go and see this, leave the hubby at home so you can drool in peace!

Do I lie?

Western has a great imagination which I love but he is 8 now and still believes in Santa, aliens, wizards, giants etc,
He really wants to be a wizard, and thinks he is enrolled at Hogwarts and when he is 11 he will go there. But its making him scared cause the movies are getting scarier as they go along. He is also worried he doesn't know where the magic shops are and that he can't find a real wand in the Warehouse. I remember my nephew Kyle thinking he was a real wizard too and he grew out of it and he didn't stress about it so much.
What do I tell him...do I tell him its not real and there are no such things as real wizards? He enjoys reading and researching the whole magic thing but how much is too much? Or do I lie and encourage the fantasy.
He commented yesterday that he thought the fireplace was the wrong kind to get to the wizard shop alley in the movies....
The alley for all your wizardry needs!
I love the fantasy world too but I don't get scared like he does...I don't really!
Western is also fascinated by outerspace and aliens, I had better not let him watch Signs with Mel Gibson, I'll run out of tin foil when he makes all those hats LOL! He plays Destroy all Humans on the PS2 which only fuels his imagination...perhaps getting a PS2 wasn't such a good idea. He has a wish list a mile long of the weapons he would need if we were ever invaded.

I have told him the tooth fairy isn't real because he got really upset when he thought the tooth fairy would take his precious teeth and cried and cried. So now he has all his teeth in a container and no money for them. If he didn't believe he couldn't recieve and I always forgot to pay anyway! LOL.

I just have to keep him from telling Ethan about the tooth fairy cause he's braver than his big brother and won't freak out hopefully!

As for me I prefer my wizards like this...Harry Potter is growing up!

There are feathers people!

Feast your eyes on the first official photo release from Breaking Dawn, the fourth movie from Twilight.
It's Bella holding feathers and if you have read the book you will know this is the first sex scene where Edward had to bite the pillows to stop from biting Bella. Unforturnally they have to keep it PG13 but I reckon they should do an R18 verison for us older Twilight fans! The countdown is on!

Scrapbooking... a great way to start the year!

I have started the year as I mean to go on, scrapbooking! I am in definite need of some supplies though. In all my lettering I only had 2 Es and have run out of foam pads and double sided sellotape. I'm also out of black, navy and kraft cardstock my three favourite colours. My embellishments need major replenishing but despite all that I have managed to create the following simple layouts.
I'm not sure about the black and white paper with this, will keep an eye out for something better. Maybe a red...

I layered three widths of polka dot ribbon then attached these cool chipboard flowers found at the Warehouse.
These large photos are so hard to do when I'm used to working with 6x4 photos.

This is Ethan to a T

These robots were cut out of a sheet of paper but do need foam pads for some depth.
I need to put foam pads under the middle photo to lift if up .

The swimming title was found on Trademe.

These goggles are from my stash and have been lurking around for years.
I prefer to work with 6x4 photos but now the Warehouse Stationery have the next size up so I'm experimenting with them at the moment.
I love this photo of Ethan resting his head on the side of the pool.

Here are some more Kaisercraft robots.

I should have thought ahead and got Western to wear a different colour PJ top, orange is hard to match but I think I did an ok job.
The boy on the bike is off a birthday card in my stash. He would have been lower down but I need to cover some paua fish I had on there first. Why did I put fish on there....no idea but then I couldn't peel them off. I should do what Ann does and not stick anything down until you are sure you have it right but then I do like to live dangerously! LOL.
I wanted to use the title "Celebreight" but only had 2 Es so had to stick with eight. Thats were a Cricut machine would be great, no more searching for the lettering you need you just print it out!
Now its bedtime so I can have lots of creative juices flowing tomorrow....

Chocolate 101

As we head into my favourite public holiday, Easter, I have decided to share my chocolate rules so you too can be slim just like me....snigger. I live in hope that I will recieve lots of chocolate over the holidays or at least the kids do so I can share.

Chocolate eaten in the car has no calories, but you do need to hide the wrappers cause if your husband finds them the calories will reappear!

Chocolate eaten if nobody sees you has no calories.
Drinking diet coke after eating chocolate cancels out the calories.
All brown food has no calories...chippies, chocolate...and sometimes white food...white chocolate...
Having white chocolate in one hand and dark chocolate in the other is called a balanced diet.
Eating fruit and nut chocolate counts towards your 5 plus a day fruit intake.
As does eating chocolate coated strawberries.

If you eat a whole bar of chocolate then replace it before anybody finds out it cancels out the calories.
The chocolate fish you get with your coffee has no calories....or the Hot chocolate drink.

The chocolate buttons you use in cooking have no calories if eaten before they are cooked.

Easter eggs bought for the children and eaten have no calories....its called taste testing. ( You have to make sure you are buying quality chocolate for your kids!)

Hiding easter eggs up high where on you can find them is not cheating, its called sharing with your mother!
The chocolate dip on your icecream has no calories...its there to keep the icecream on!

Any chocolate you are given have no calories and actually takes off the calories they normally have!
Cadbury have the best chocolate in a bar but Roses are the best chocolates in a box Other chocolate brands are acceptable but have no calories either!
Heres hoping the Easter bunny is kind to us all and lets us indulge without the bulge this year!
