About me

I'm a stay at home (well not really stay at home cause I'm never home!) mum of 2 awesome boys and am married to my lovely kiwi husband Neil.

I'm meant to be the housekeeper of  our 60's built home and gardener of weed flower gardens that surround our house.
This role is improving thanks to Flylady.com but its not my best role. I'm sure Mum lied about me being a Virgo cause I'm not tidy at all!
Gardening is so much easier with Roundup regular sessions rather than trying to do an annual cleanup before Christmas LOL.

My days are filled with Playcentre a wonderfully unique early childhood provider that value mums as first teachers and unpaid overworked volunteers that run each session. My roles include secretary, nose wiper, hand washer, story teller, mediator (for kids and big people!), tutor, education convener, cleaner, (I do more housework at Playcentre than at home but shhhh don't tell Neil) and teacher.
I am starting my first year of my Early Childhood degree this year, something I never thought possible until Playcentre gave me the skills and courage I needed to take that big step.

I'm a cuddly mum (thanks Cadbury!) and I'm hoping one that will be remembered for love and fun rather than a housekeeper. But I do try hard to maintain boundaries (chocolate for breakfast only once a week) as children with boundaries flourish and learn more as they feel safe. This doesn't always happen but then no one is the perfect parent. I'm happy with good enough!

My lounge is home to over 15 scrapbook albums
which document our lives. Scrapbooking
generally happens late at night when
inspiration strikes.

I have two tattoos of my own and these ones pictured are possibles for more to come! Hey I'm in my 40's who cares if I'm tattooed now. Mum can't stop me LOL!
My current favourite genre is anything supernatural, preferably with vampires. I used to be much more widely read but just can't seem to get enough of this genre!
Between supernatural stints I love the historical romances of Sara Donati and Diana Gabaldon.
And of course if I'm into the supernatural I've gotta love these people....honest its a rule! I've read the books several times and own all the movies released so far.....the count down has begun for Breaking Dawn being released on DVD in April 2012.

Other movies I love are anything by Disney or Pixar, Pearl Harbour, Burlesque, Red Riding Hood, Mama Mia and anything that makes me laugh.
