Western is almost 8

Its hard to believe, what with me looking so young and all, that my oldest child is turning 8 on Sunday. And what a perfect child.......snigger yeah right! Its like that saying there are never any spoilt children in your own family. LOL.
My boy is well and truely spoilt, but I must admit I have eased off in the last couple of years, he no longers gets something every time we go within a 100 mts of a shop. 
This year we have bought him a new bike, the one he rides he has had since he was three and it now will have trainer wheels put on it again for Ethan. Western is far to big for his old bike now and looks a bit like a gorilla riding it. I've also found him some books, a new PS2 game and some new pjs as well. Wow looking at his gifts there are no toys, he really doesn't play with toys very much unless its a prop for a PS2 game. Ethan is now playing with all of Westerns toys.We have nothing planned for Westerns birthday, slack eh,  but will have a cake. We will just crowd everybody around the cake and make it look like we had a party for him, when he looks back at the photos he will never know the difference! LOL.
I just need to sort out the cake now, I'm going to get out all his lego people and make a lego themed cake. I thought I might also make a complete cake out of Lego first and give that to him for a joke. Hes got enough Lego to make a 3 tiered cake and then some.

Neil made him a cake for his 4th birthday that Westie had chosen out of his book,  but we weren't allowed to eat it so I had to make another one for everybody to eat. Western would let people visit his cake but not touch it. We had to throw it out in the end.

I stand corrected...we were allowed to eat the logs made of Chocolate finger biscuits.

This was Westerns 5th birthday cake, it had skewers with large snake lollies threaded on sticking out the top, which the kids had already grabbed off. (He actually had the same the next year cause it looked so good)

 Other years have seen 2 store brought ones, a xmas cake decorated for Blues Clues and a couple of disasters we won't mention LOL.

For a child who arrived 5 weeks early in a massive hurry, he has turned out to be a pretty laid back kid with a great sense of humour and very loving. He has finally found his groove at school and settled in to learn, he goes to bed well with out me sleeping with him (I did until he was four...don't you hate it when you fall asleep putting them to bed and miss your fav program!). He loves to read reference books and loves his PS2 and watching videos. He is not athletic but does get out on the tramp and his bike and as seen in earlier posts is becoming better in the pool. He is a good big brother most of the time and I'm proud to have him for a son.
