Swimming Morris style...

Considering Neil and I both love the water our boys are real wussies when it come to swimming (or bathing for that matter).  Neither of them have got their hair wet on purpose and scream if it looks like anybody is going to splash them!

The first year of swimming at school Western would get into his togs then get out of his togs. Swimming done. the second year he would get into his togs climb up the steps, climb down the steps then get dressed. Swimming done. This last year he would get into his togs, climb up the steps, sit on the side with his legs in then get out and get dressed. Swimming done.
Ethan got closer to the water the Western. Can't you just see going through his mind...who is the person and where are her front teeth?

Westerns first year of swimming...look closely....he's nowhere cause he is dressed and waiting by the gate! Mrs Montgomerie in the striped top will be Ethan's teacher next year god help her!

Two weeks ago I bought a pool for home, not a big pool but big enough for the four of us to cool down in.
See its not deep, only up to Ethan's hips.

It took Neil and I two hot days to convince the kids to join us in the pool. Western was nervous with Neil around who is not known for his sensitivity with woosie boys but after much coaxing he got in.
He was  pleasantly surprised but how shallow it was but screamed like a banshee as the cold water hit his jewels! Neil being his usual impatient self fetched the dive tank and goggles to try to get Western to put his head under the water....did it work?....no it did not! LOL.
But I did find Western practising on my bed later!

Don't you love the shorts, I really like them they are nice and bright.

Term 1 is going to see Western get into his togs, get into the pool and join in with the activities. I am considering swimming lessons if I can't get him putting his face in the water by the end of summer. Why is he so scared of water but not scared of crossing the Waihine Bridge that I won't cross!
Taken when Western was four, I get scared on the bridge at Masterton park let alone this one! LOL.
