My favourite place to holiday, surprisingly, is Ngawi. There are no shops how could that be my favourite place to be! Well actually one shop but with overpriced milk etc for when you get caught out. I'm sure they charge double for tourists LOL.

| Ethan is not the only who gets lots of RnR at the beach. |
We all get to rest, relax, read and over indulge! It may the sea air but those beds are really comfortable and we always get a great sleep at night, mid morning nap, after lunch nap, before bed nap.....really the minute you lie down you fall asleep! I always manage to get heaps of reading done and if I run out there is a great treasure trove of reading there. The view from the bach is awesome and the sunsets are truely beautiful.
| On a clear day you can see the South Island! |
We watch all the fishermen go out in the early morning and they all head back in early afternoon to deal with their catch. There is always fresh fish or shell fish for tea.
| Ethan tucks into fresh fish one mid winter stay at the beach. |
The boys love playing on the beach or exploring the bulldozers and tractors that live there all the time. Both boys love the rock pools or watching Aidan on his kayak. We have yet to get them into a boat but that will come!
| Both boys loved playing on this awesome tractor. |
| The seals have a great life! |
We visit the seals every time we go there, there is a tucked away pool called the nursery where the baby seals are looked after by several bigger seals. They are a delight to watch but you can't get too close. You do not want a 300 kg seal coming after you!
On the day we took these photos it was blowing a gale but Western was very brave and hung on for dear life!
Neil enjoys the fishing and spotlighting, we did have our own fishing boat but that got replaced by a
midlife crisis jetboat...he still manages to get out on the local's boats sometimes and does some diving sometimes but the wetsuit has shrunk somewhat!
We have been lucky enough to spend a couple of Christmas's there with the Hargood family. Faye is a great cook and we always have plenty to eat.
| Faye and Wayne 2005. We had a mid winter stay that year, Western loved it. |
The kids always loved having Uncle Wayne to play with at the beach. They would go down and feed the seagulls each night. I remember many games of Uno, Skipbo and Yaytze being played late into the night with cries of "you cheater" to and from Wayne. Western always spent heaps of time with Aidan too, thankfully Aidan has lots of patience like his Dad.
| Watch out Arie, you are about to get wet! |
| My boys will only go on a boat when it is in a trailer! LOL! |
We have to book 2 years in advance for Harold's Cottage at Christmas time but it is so worth it. We are booked in for 2012, the boys will be older and more confident in the water. That Christmas will be all about beach with a beach themed xmas tree, and a summer bbq for lunch. We will try to get my family out for beach Christmas but that is easier said than done as the rest of my siblings only have their kids for half days on Christmas...custody arrangements suck.
| Neil and Western all wrapped up warm, the beach is great even in the winter time. |
Our retirement dream is to sell the house and buy a bach, life by the sea would be great....as long as I have the internet and a credit card! LOL!
