Yesterday the sun shone bright, but my birthday boy did not! He was grumpy all day and ended up with some time out on his birthday! Shock horror even in this laid back house you do not go unpunished on your birthday so protesting all the way to his bedroom "its my birthday and I can do whatever I want" Western marched. I think he is sleep deprived and just very tired at the end of a long school term.
Anyway he did get heaps of presents from his
shopping mad mother, and his
oh my god why did you buy him so much father! The main present was this lovely bike to replace the one he has had since he was 3.
 |
| The bike on its only visit inside! |
This present was quickly followed by 2 DVD's, 1 PS2 game, 2 books, 1 pair of PJs, (which says Warning grumpy in mornings do not attempt conversation!) a slippery slide and a Lego book with lego and patterns to try.
Granny gave him Lynx smellies which were used in the shower last night. Aunty Faye and Aidan gave him a voucher for Toyworld, a new tshirt, lollies and a lockable box with a skull on top. Not a bad haul he thought.
 |
| Movies were Nims Island and Flight of the Navigator. |
I made Western a Lego cake out of real Lego as a gag present, it took a few hours but it was actually kinda relaxing.
 |
| The cake had 3 layers with all of his people lined up around the edges, I made candles with Lego flames from rocket ships. |
 |
| Western "blows" out his candles. |
Western thought it was pretty funny and played along for the photos...
.bloody blogger mums.
I did also make him a real cake which only took half the time but also needed a second layer on top after Ethan poked his fingers in the top several times!
 |
| This one had Star Wars Lego figures on it and I painted 8's around the base. Lego cakes are much easier to make! |
I was going to write "May the Force be with you" but do you know how hard it is to do lettering using a brush! I even practised on a spare piece of icing but couldn't get it to look right. There was enough room to put 8 magic relighting candles on top which smoked the house out.
 |
| I bunched everybody together to make it look like he had a party. Western had to be dragged in from swimming to do his cake when the cousins arrived for afternoon tea. |
So thats the birthdays done for another year, time to start saving for next year!
