See this boy....he makes me so proud! Its not anything big that he does that makes me proud, its the little things.
At the beginning of his school year he moved to the senior class, 4 levels in one class, and became the youngest person in the class. This was a really major transition for my boy who doesn't like change. I could see him struggling to find his place in the first few weeks and thankfully now he is settled. But the thing that makes me proud is that he found his own way with a few reassuring cuddles from us. A new teacher has brought more phyiscal exercise, something Western loathes but no complaints have been heard and he is actually keen to go to school each morning.
Being a big boy brings it owns challenges and now puberty seems to be kicking in early, we have had to enforce showers every second day and the use of deoderant. Something else he has taken in his stride. He even asked to have his showers in the morning and with the use of a timer his showers are no longer 45 minutes long. (What can you do in a shower for 45 minutes?!!!)
His pride in being a big brother at school is evident, he has helped Ethan settle in to school, and has asked to bring him home each day. This worked well but then I would have to return to school to collect the forgotten stuff so now I meet them.
The other day he made a snack plate for his dad who had been working hard in the shed all day. A drink of orange juice and an orange appeared on a plate delivered by Western so they could afternoon tea together. Sweet ah.
he has also conquered his fear of motorbikes and happily putts around the back lawn on the four wheeler, he won't be setting any land speed records but hes out there giving it a go.
So all these little things equal a very proud mum. I love you sweetie! As for my other ratbag...thats a whole other post LOL.
