Punctuation IS important!

So said the handout at my tutorial yesterday. I agree, punctuation is my favourite thing in the English language.

Woman without her man is nothing.

Woman, without her, man is nothing.

See what I mean?

And so began an hour of heaven, discussing the merits of commas, semi colons, brackets, (must remember brackets have no place in academic essays),  and apostrophes.

Today, the tutorial is on analysing essay questions, I am beginning to wonder if I will ever be able to finish my first essay for fear of having two many clauses, sub clauses, modifying danglers or heaven forbid spelling mistakes! LOL
