The next step

My brother Lance has taken the next step in his journery with alchol and drugs. He entered a detox house yesterday. After packing up his stuff and storing it at Mum's house he was ready to go. I wonder what was going through his mind, was he nervous, scared, worried or confident he was making the right move. He has already under gone lots of counselling and education to get to this stage. I think it takes a brave person to admit they have an issue but a braver person to take these steps. My sister Rachel took him to the house and is going to look after his finances while he is in there. He is allowed his cellphone so he can keep in touch with his kids.He has to have a daily blood test which will not be fun as he hates needles with a passion. I know these first two weeks will be tough, I've seen him detox before by himself and he is not a pretty person! LOL. But once he gets past that part he will be able to think clearer and hopefully continue to make good choices.

I just want to scoop him up and give him big cuddle and tell him I'm proud of him and behind him 100% but alas he is a Millar man and they don't do that kinda stuff, and he would probably run a 100 miles if I tried. LOL.

Good luck Lance, I love you and hope you continue on this journey.
Lance and his kids, 3 reasons to continue on the journery!
