Many faces of Santa

As I sat in my armchair last night trying to recover from another hot busy day with the boys I gazed at my Christmas tree and realised I have many Santa's. Must because I can relate to his size LOL! Or the fact that I love giving presents to kids. I have been known to go overboard occasionally!
I especially love buying for my own kids cause I get to play with them too. (Can't wait for a turn on that Paper Jamz guitar). Each year I add to my collection of Santa's and some of these have been with me for many years. I went through a wooden country theme for a while, then found some old fashioned ceramic faces like St Nick. I have a tin one, glass ones (too hard to get a photo off) and am now collecting the ones that look like they are made out of play dough. I do have other things on my tree but Santa rules!
I don't have as many Santa's as my sister in law Lynda. For some reason she has taken to collecting mechanical Christmas curios. Her lounge is a Christmas wonderland. She has a Santa that is almost as big as Western and which Ethan is scared off. Who would be scared of a giant Santa singing to you! She has some beautiful scenes where Santa flies around on his sleigh or a train. She has a cute singing Tree and Santa on a motorbike. It must cost her a fortune in power and batteries. She also decorated the outside of her house each year. We haven't been to visit yet this year but may head down Friday since Neil is finishing work today. We also visit the rest of the houses that are decorated. Some are tasteful and some are not! The kids love it though. I would love to decorate an old villa with a veranda for Christmas with icicle lights dripping down around the veranda and twinkling lights through all the roses and gardens. None of those crass Santa's or reindeer for me!
