My two Morris boys Mighty Morris and Morris Minor starting the haka at the farewell for the outgoing Principal Mr O. A second later Ethan almost leaped into his brother's arms from fright. I didn't get a picture cause I was laughing too hard. Our school has really embraced multiculturalism, this ceremony contained both a Māori and Fijian haka, both powerful and moving.
Mr O'Leary takes it all in before presenting the school with two trees for the orchard. The school presented him with a pounau necklace and each class had done cards and pictures for him. It was very sweet.
This was at the end as Mr O'Leary was leaving the hall and Western was fighting very hard to fight back his tears, he was so upset. Afterward he went up and shook his hand and wished him well all while crying his eyes out. Hope Mr O felt loved!
Here is the Fijian haka, aren't these boys super cute! The little one in orange is Watsonini and he's in Ethan's class. I loved the little interaction between my boys at the end. Obviously its not cool to have your brother sitting right beside you LOL.
