Ethan turns 5 Lego style!
My baby (sob) celebrated his 5th birthday in grand Lego style today. We invited 2 Charlies, a Daniel, a Luke and an Amy to help him party. (We ended up with all of the above, a Grace and Aunty Faye).
The theme was Lego but as all great parties go, it ended up an alsorts party with the tramp being centre stage. Especially to Charlie who recently learnt the haka with his Dad at Te Papa. He treated us to his cute haka, (fitting the day after the All Blacks won the World Cup).
The kids enjoyed exploring a new house filled with toys,
some old,
and some new, (Thanks Charlie for the awesome Lego road map!).
Food was quickly devoured, apologies to all parents for the food colouring induced high!
If you look carefully you can see some token fruit and popcorn in amongst the sugar...honest!
Ethan loved being sung too and kept telling them all to go away! And thanks to the Edmonds cookbook the kids actually ate the cake and icing! Good on ya Edmonds.
I then sent them all outside to jump off the sugar intake and tried to get some "fun" photos but as always there were the out takes and goofyness before finally the good shot below.
I spent hours putting lots of Lego touches together, I made the sign, blew up 50 balloons, made 3 dozen Lego biscuits and sorting lego into colours for effective decor. Almost forgot the gifts, they were wrapped in the bedroom this morning while Ethan waited in the lounge..whoops.
Ethan's bubble gun was a great success but some preferred the old fashioned method.
and where was big brother Western and his friend Luke during all this....
on the computer, followed by the PS2, then finished off with the Nintendo 64! LOL.
A great success and a happy but tired 5 year old at the end.
Happy birthday my baby. I love you.
