The weekend started with me baking chocolate mufffins at 11.30 Friday night ready to take up the Eketahuna Garage Sale Saturday. Unfortunally I forgot to put baking powder, (kind of essential) and ended up with lots of small windowless building cupcakes! So I got up early on Saturday groaning about why do I volunteer myself on the weekends and made a double batch of peanut brownies which turned into sultana brownies when I discovered I had no peanuts! They tasted really nice so will make them again.
I drove up to Eketahuna Playcentre which takes 3/4 of an hour and helped sell almost $700 worth of donated goods. I also managed to face paint a few kiddies as well. Find of the day was a wee bag of dope found in a pair of donated shoes which was whisked away by some one saying they could sell it and will donate the money to the garage sale. I can just imagine the reaction when the guy who the shoes belonged to finds out they were donated to the Playcentre garage sale! We don't know who donated them but they were mens shoes.
While I was busy at Eketahuna Neil put up our new blow up pool with help from the kids and the dog. Ethan has had his first dunking already but didn't panic. Since its been up its been too cold to swim....go figure!
I'm determined to get my children more confident in the water this summer, I'm sick of having kids too scared to swim when there is so much fun to be had in the water!

We had a lovely bbq tea outside on Saturday night with venison steak and burnt sausages. Venison caught by Neil a few weeks ago, he marinated it in fejoa relish and it was yummy.

| Neil was slightly shattered this night, it was hot and they had to search for the deer once it was shot. They didn't get home until around 1am. |

Sunday was spent taking photos of all the unsold kids clothes from the Eketahna garage sale to sell on trade me, there was heaps of Pumpkin Patch and JK clothes left over and I'm sure we can make some more money for them. Kids and Mum were all in bed asleep by 8.30 ready for the new week. I love being snuggled up in bed when its raining though didn't hear much of it as I was shattered!
