Welcome to my new blog!

Well after joining the blogging world over at Word press 60 odd posts ago, I've discovered Blogger! This is a much easier blogging site to use and so here I am! My bestest friend Ann has also made the move to Blogger and I couldn't let her go on her own LOL.
So bare...whoops bear with me while I get my head around this site and improve my blog as I learn what all the gadgets can do.
This weekend has been very busy for me, my nephew turned 21 on Friday so we just had to have a drink with Aidan and Faye to celebrate. We brought him wooden chest of drawers for all his man jewellery. He has a few holes around his face to match the tattoos so I thought he needed at manly jewellry box!
We then helped Grace a step niece celebrate turning 9 with 10 pin bowling and swimming at the indoor pool in Masterton. Western loved 10 pin bowling and I can see us taking some of his friends up there for his birthday.
Western shows off his unique technique!

Ethan surprised me at the indoor pools, he stayed in the water for over an hour and had to be bribed out with promises of birthday cake from Auntie Rachel. He normally only paddles around the edges while Western swims in the big pool. That bodes well for this summer and my plans to spend a lot of time at the local pools. They will be having free entry this summer so we will be making the most of it to build the boys water confidence.
Tama (6) makes a wish
On the way home we called into watch Tama blow out his candles and give him his gift of Lego.
Sunday was spent making Ethan's birthday cake, I always have good plans but the actual never quite matches the planned...a bit like my budget! Today was his birthday, I think we were more excited than Ethan. We had to prompt him to find his presents and open them. He is the total opposite of Western, Western wants to buy something everytime we go near a shop and Ethan always says no thanks I have toys at home. (I wonder if he is my son sometimes!).
This was going to be a Spiderman cake but the good old star cookie cutters won out!

We gave Ethan a 3 wheel scooter, magnetics, a book and a proper little saw, hammer and screwdrivers. I just know I'm going to regret the carpentry tools!

So the next birthday is Westerns in December so I had better start saving now, his list is very long and expensive! (A bit like mine!)

I will be transferring some of my favourite posts over from Word Press but if you want to visit the old blog you are more than welcome. careysmusings1.wordpress.com.
