What has kept me away from blogging? Meetings! I have had 4 meetings this week for Playcentre and Toy Library and now I have a to do list a mile long...type minutes and distribute, get started on grant applications for both toy library and Playcentre, compile databases for toy library, organise PR for toy library, book stall sites, run sessions, and the list goes on. My house is also in dire need of attention, the floor has resurfaced in the lounge with help from Ethan loading his toys on to his truck and transporting them back to his room but he has lost interest now damn!
those who know me well know housework is not my top priority, I'm sure Mum lied about my birthday cause Virgos are meant to be tidy and I am so not!
I want to share a recipe each Tuesday and since I missed Tuesday here is my next recipe from the Destitute Gourmet cook Sophie Gray.
Spiced apple cake
125gm butter melted (or marg is your budget is as tight as mine!)
2 unpeeled apples grated
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 and half cup flour
1tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp salt
Topping
I don't always put this on, the kids tend to scrap it off and Neil complains its too crunchy for a dude with no teeth!
25gm butter
half a cup rolled oats
quarter cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Melt the butter, add apples, then sugar and egg and mix. Stir in dry ingredients (sift if you must) and mix to just dampen. Bake in shallow cake tin spreading topping over if you add it. (melt butter and add rest of ingredients to mix).
bake at 180c for 30 to 45 mins. Its really yummy with ice cream, or cream, or custard for dessert or all three if you must!
Here comes wordless Wednesday....origami that is just amazing!
Aren't they amazing! I struggle with paper planes...LOL.
We actually have plans this weekend too, we want to take the kids to the A and P show on Saturday providing its not raining. Ethan will love the animals and Western will like the wood chopping and we may be able to get them on a ride. Will take the camera.
Neil and I are going out to dinner sans kids for Aidan's 21st. It will be a real treat, Granny aka witchy poo is looking after the boys. Shes already planning to watch Tom and Jerry DVDs all night.

Must go, Ethan is wanting to do baking so he can lick the big spoon before Western gets home from school LOL, it doesn't take them long to learn stuff like that.

Wow a night with out the kids, something we dont do very often at all. Have fun.

Still getting my head around blogger, am trying to get a slide show together, who did you use ann? We had a great night without the kids and they were both asleep when we got home, almost had sex but resisted the urge! LOL! May have needed a couple of drinks to go that far but i was the sober driver.
